Windsor vs Aston Rowant MASL

Condon Jnr Seals win

Sunday saw Windsor entertain Aston Rowant at the Home Park. The Windsor innings got off to a steatdy start with Huggins and Chorley adding 52 for the 1st wicket before Chorley departed for 32. This brought youngster Gould to the crease who continued to push the scoring along despite some tight bowling by Shepherd. Huggins continued his good form over the weekend passing 50 but was soon trapped L.B.W. by Lewis. A brief partnership by Greene and Gould gave the Windsor innings some much needed urgency before a mix up led to Greene been run out. However, this only brought Noble to the crease who instantly picked up the pace. Gould eventually departed for a mature 75 after attempting one shot too many on the wearing wicket. Noble also was to perish in a similar fashion. This brought debutant Banerjee to the crease who added a quick-fire 14 as the Windsor Innings closed on 225-5.

In reply the Aston innings got off to a quick start despite the early loss of R. Eaton. At the other end C. Eaton looked in ominous form playing shots all round the ground before falling to a sharp catch at mid wicket off the bowling of Noble for 47. Noble continued to exploit the spin friendly conditions as he removed Shepherd. Plumridge offered some brief resistance before been removed by Banerjee. Noble then struck twice in quick succession to dismiss Hulse and Foster and by now the Aston innings was in some trouble. Birch sent down a peach of a delivery to Lewis, which he could only fend back into the hands of the bowler. A fine piece of fielding by Gould brought about the run out of Majkut before colt Sam Condon wrapped up the Aston innings with the wicket of Ashby-Tank to give Windsor a comfortable win.
